Introduction to graphs with a focus on pictographs. Interactive, colorful examples. Students will be introduced to pictographs, line graphs, pie graphs/circle graphs, and bar graphs. Students will learn how to read a pictograph, answer questions using a pictograph, and practice reading a pictograph when each symbol stands for more than one unit (i.e. one shoe on the graph = 2 pairs of shoes sold).
Aligned with Common Core standard 2.MD.10- Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.
