This 20-pages product provides an introduction to computer programming, focusing on data types and operations a beginner programmer with no previous programming knowledge should know. Python is used as a tool to aid learning, but since this is not a Python course, some specific Python features are not covered.
An accessible version of the original product is also included (as a separate file), to enable voice reader software accessibility for visually impaired / blind students. In case this accessible version needs to be used, please instruct the visually impaired student to set up their voice reader in "verbose" mode because many punctuation marks and symbols are used in programming code examples.
Also, a worksheet with 20 exercises and an answer sheet are provided (as two separate files, 3 pages each).
-Python interactive shell
-Working with numbers, basic math
-Working with strings, character encoding, indices, string slicing
-Boolean values, boolean operations, comparison, membership.
-Data types: a summary of the data types introduced in the previous section (int, float, string, bool), type conversion.
