Introduction to the Acropolis in Athens
A PowerPoint guide to the Athenian Acropolis, including the Propylaea, Erectheion, and Temple of Athena Nike. The slides cover the history of the Acropolis from Mycenaean times through the Athenian “Golden Age” with some brief information about the site during the Roman occupation of Athens and down through the modern day. A short five question quiz is included at the end.
Specifically, this product contains 31 slides introducing the Athenian Acropolis and its surviving buildings with emphasis on helping students visualize the buildings as they survive today. I have included lecture notes in the PowerPoint as well as in an accompanying 3-page document. This product will give your students a great introduction to the Acropolis, a UNESCO world heritage site and perhaps the greatest architectural achievement of Greek civilization. The PowerPoint presentation and the pdf file have been put into a zip file for you to download.
