Product Description
This 30-45 minute activity can be done in groups of two or by single students. It will require a computer with access to the internet. The goal is to introduce students (with no input from you) to the Protein Data Base (PDB) as they are guided with questions and screenshots through basic features of the PDB (protein search, image rendering types). Students are finally invited to render (quarternary and primary structures) and compare side by side two similar by different protein molecules (about 90% similar). The activity both introduces the PDB and introduces and/or reviews basic protein structure. No additional introductory lecture is necessary, but a review discussion is ideal.
