This worksheet provides students with a gentle introduction to the quotient rule. The student is asked to identify the numerator, denominator, and each of their derivatives. Then the student is asked to apply the quotient rule. The student is also asked to solve a problem two different ways: by dividing through first and by using the quotient rule. Finally, the student is asked to find four more derivatives using the quotient rule.
The functions are kept relatively simple: No trig functions, no exponentials, no chain rule.
This is appropriate for AP Calculus AB and BC.
A detailed answer key is provided.
