This lesson is based on the book "The Napping House" by Audrey Wood. I’ve used this activity to introduce the treble clef and reading G & E on the treble clef staff. This lesson can be repeated as an introduction to recorder! Lesson includes barred instruments, singing, literacy, and music literacy! Materials included: lesson plan complete with concepts and learning targets and a PowerPoint (also available on TPT) that is fully editable to make it work for you!
How to use this resource
All of the LMO Music lesson plans use the following abbreviations!
st. bt.=steady beat
The top of the lesson plan shows the main concept(s) being taught and how they are used! The highlighted text at the top shows which elements are covered with the listed concept(s). The text box with the blue text lists the learning targets (or objectives) written as “I Can” statements! The “I Can” statements are written from the view point of the student! These are the actions/skills that the student will accomplish through this lesson!
When there is an accompanying PowerPoint slideshow, the lesson will list the slides for the appropriate time in the lesson. Note that most of the PowerPoint presentations are slideshows, which means that it will start as soon as you click on it and it is not editable!
