This is a lesson that introduces students to measurement. It includes 3 activities from the Louisiana Comprehensive Cirriculm. It includes group work with groups divided with high, average, and low students in each group. It includes different assignments for different ability levels of the students in the group. It requires the students to determine wether something should be measured, counted, or calculated. The students will also be required to determine what type of tool and unit of measurement they would use to measure something. They will also create different vocabulary cards with attribute, benchmark, abbreviation, and tool for each unit of measurement given. I was observed for this lesson and was given 100% on the lesson. It starts out with simple concepts and gets more complex as the lesson goes on and it requires higher order thinking.
