This activity introduces students to Kurt Vonnegut's classic short story, "Harrison Bergeron." It's a pre-read activity where students read a blurb about the story in groups of 3-4. But, each student has a "handicap" that they must perform while they read. Examples include "you must act really nervous while reading" or "play with your hair in a dramatic way." Students then have to guess what each other's handicaps are. It's an engaging activity that students typically enjoy and sets the stage for a core concept of the short story. This is part of a bundle pack that has a multitude of activities over "Harrison Bergeron." Great value for great resources (at a discount if you purchase as a bundle)!
