Product Description
This unit aligns with the Common Core State Standards:
STANDARD 5 - Matter and Energy
"The teacher understands the nature and properties of energy in its various forms, and the processes by which energy is exchanged and/or transformed.
5A. understands the atomic and nuclear structure of matter and the relationship to chemical and physical properties
5C. understands the cause and effect of chemical reactions in natural and manufactured systems
5E. analyzes the properties of materials in relation to their chemical or physical structures and evaluate uses of the materials based on their properties
5F. explains conservation of mass and energy and explains interactions of energy with matter, including changes in state"

Unit II “States of Matter” folder contains three comprehensive PowerPoint lessons; many review programs with printable color PDF worksheets; three student PPT note guides; a unit vocabulary sheet; several student worksheets and activities (PDF); quizzes, and two unit/chapter assessments (all multiple choice, matching, true/false questions) with answer keys.

PowerPoint lessons contain many graphics and at least two links to short videos for each lesson to further student understanding.
PowerPoint slides also contain notes for the instructor based on students most "frequently asked questions" or FAQ's to help clarify the subject. A class activity is included at the end of each PowerPoint lesson and a 20-question interactive quiz/review at is also included as a link in the last slide.
ActivInspire programs/worksheets can be used for an interactive review of the material covered in the unit.
