INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH This is a PowerPoint presentation I made to teach students how to write an introductory paragraph. It provides review of the main parts of an introduction, but then focuses in on the hook.

The presentation provides a sample question about a shared central idea between two poems, "Television," by Roald Dahl and "Cookie Jar," by Jack Johnson. However, it can be used as a model for any introduction.
