One of the issues we face today as educators is how to address the topic of bullying with our students. This novel was written by a father whose son, a devoted Minecraft player, had his IP address accessed by strangers and all the work that he had done in creating his Minecraft world, destroyed. To add insult to injury, those who destroyed the boy's work posted what they had done on the Internet. Determined to help heal his devastated son, Mark Cheverton wrote this Minecraft-centered novel to promote tolerance and cooperation among young people, as well as adults. The first book in this series introduces the characters and how they work together to help save the Minecraft world from monsters through creativity, cooperation, and good thinking. A study guide for the second novel in the series, Battle for the Nether, is in process and will be ready by mid-January, 2016. An answer key is not currently included as teachers generally read the novel with the students and may wish to leave room for their own comments. There is a chapter-by-chapter vocabulary unit included with the guide.
