Teachers can use this innovative activity to allow students to create a Top 10 list (we all love to create rankings, don't we?), which allows students to list the best inventions of the 1800s according to their judgement. Students can use a textbook, the internet, or other resources to complete the activity. This activity can be used to debate (which is most important, why is one more important than the other, i.e.). This also makes an excellent group activity. The teacher can take votes to compile a Top 4 list (based on student perspective, and debate elimination).
