-speculate about how different inventions came about, and read the true stories behind several inventions - WiFi, traffic signals, disposable diapers, gas masks, sticky notes, and Velcro
-read about simple machines (inclined plane, screw, wheel and axle, wedge, pulley, lever)
-build and test their own examples of the simple machines
-brainstorm and observe simple machines in the learning environment
-explain which simple machines will work best in different scenarios
-research inventors and inventions of their choice using online and video materials
-classify inventions into different categories - health and safety, tools, food, convenience, recreation, communication, transportation
-brainstorm, observe, and classify different inventions in the learning space
