What is a Webquest?
It is a new way for students to gain information about a specific topic using various web sources.
But, I don't want my kids seating on unsafe sites
Hey! I don't either!
That is why I created QR codes for kids to scan which will take them to a SAFE website or VIDEO that has been filtered through safeshare!
Kids can either work independently or collaborate with a partner or group of students.
This product gives you access to a symbaloo that I have created. ALL of the videos and websites that are on the biome mats are ALSO compiled and organized (color coded) into a symbaloo!
A symbaloo is basically one webpage that has grids and little icons. The kids simply click the icons to take them to the information.

Color and black and white page of QR that links to symbaloo to keep around the room.
How it works
Assign each student one of the three space travel heroes. OR assign them ALL!
Student scan the QR code and clicks the ‘tiles’ labeled with their hero. Fill out the corresponding graphic organizer. I printed the organizer and the rubric front and back to save paper.
Once students fill out the organizer, I had my kids create videos on Vidra. On Friday, the kids switched videos and filled out the other heroes graphic organizers using their peers videos.
If technology is limited, you can take a grade on the organizer and have the kids research more than one person. Take your kids to the computer lab! Even with a few laptops you can pair up the kids and make it a center to integrate social studies!
Other possibility: have the kids write a paper. Change the rubric to pages or paragraphs for a paper!
