Product Description
Use the fun and familiar write the room format to search the room for sets of 16 famous inventors and their inventions - themed mini posters. Students then write or trace the words on one of the response sheets.

Inventors Write the Room is a vocabulary, writing, social studies, and science activity to include in your classroom literacy centers. The activity is easily differentiated by choosing among the three response sheets. There is an extension page for writing about the importance of one of the inventions and drawing a thematic illustration.

* Be sure to pre-teach the vocabulary if you feel your students don't have the background knowledge or might not be able to decode the words.

Kids love to use clipboards and pencils when they circulate the room to find the cards. An alternate strategy is to keep the cards in a basket and use them as task cards in your writing center. It also works as an independent activity during Guided Reading.

Included in the Inventions Write the Room resource are:

• 16 cards in both color and black-line with word labels of famous inventors
• 16 black-line cards describing what the inventor was famous for contributing
• 3 response/recording sheets (write with picture cues, write without picture a cue, or trace the word)
• extension page to write an opinion of why an invention was important and changed the world and then illustrate
• answer cards

The Inventors Write the Room mini posters depict Alexander Graham Bell, Tim Berners-Lee, George Washington Carver, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Benjamin Franklin, Galileo, Johannes Gutenberg, Willem J. Kolff, Samuel Morse, Sir Isaac Newton, Nikola Tesla, James Watt, Eli Whitney, Wright Brothers, Leonardo Da Vinci.
