This is a fun project/book report. Students choose someone they are interested in to read and learn about. There are 3 due dates: one for turning in index cards, one for the written report, and one for the oral report. Directions are included as to what information needs to be on each card. The written report is based on the index card and students use what you have been teaching them about writing conventions to write the report. They also need to make a cover for their report. Lastly, students present an oral 2 minute speech in which they will "sell" their invention to "the public" and how this invention will make a difference in people's lives. Explicit directions are included about the report. The students dress up as their inventor and bring either a model, replica, or picture of the invention. This is a great activity to invite people (parents) to--a "Kodak Moment". Rubric included. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License.
