Simplified version of PLOT THE RING OF FIRE activities - suitable for homework or a worksheet.
Includes locations of earthquakes ONLY.
In this activity, students determine a pattern of where earthquakes tend to occur, and therefore the Ring of Fire. To begin, students "work up" a World Map by shading the continents green and oceans blue. They also highlight the equator and prime meridian to make navigating the map easier. Next, students are given the latitude and longitudes of several actual earthquakes, and must plot the locations on the World Map. Finally, there are 3 analysis questions to answer.
