This is an interactive assignment to help students see the way movement effects shoe prints. The students experiment making shoe prints while walking, skipping, running, etc. They will need to go outside to take part in each activity, then record the results as they go along.
For best results, the ground should be a bit soft. After a light rain on dirt, or in a sand pit or long jump pit where the sand is moist, the most visible prints are created.
For this experiment, each student will need a pencil, this handout, and a hard surface to write on (binder).
