This is an activity handout that your students can complete while they watch a clip that features the events of the Second Battle of Ypres and the heroic achievements of Francis Pegahmagabow.

The link to the clip from the official YouTube channel is included on the worksheet. Students can watch independently and complete the worksheet or it can be used for whole class viewing and discussion.

ANSWER KEY IS INCLUDED.

This was created for a grade 10 Canadian History (CHC2D) using the Ontario Curriculum, but it is appropriate for any grades 7-10 class that is learning about World War 1, Canadian Indigenous heroes or historical skills.

I use this at the start of my course to get the students thinking about why certain people or events are significant to Canadian history.
