Product Description
Extend student understanding of how the magnetosphere and the solar wind contribute to the creation of the auroras at the north and sole poles. Students will review an online data file created by NASA, use this information to answer guiding questions answered by text and then apply its information to plot the frequency of sightings on a world map using latitude and longitude coordinates. Students will then graph their data and use this to determine the best location for viewing an aurora as well as the best time and latitude for viewing it. Adapted from the original NASA activity for students on auroras.
