Teaching your students about Ionic Bonding? Anions and cations? The "Criss-Cross" Method of creating ionic compounds? Then these are the worksheets to use.
The worksheets consist of:
1) A few warm-up questions to re-introduce students to the idea of valence electrons, as well as reviewing which ions are formed by each element.
2) Four detailed examples to complete with your students in order to teach them the Criss-Cross method (to create ionic compounds). I have also included a complete, detailed description of how to complete each example, which students can keep.
3) Sixteen questions where students must use the Criss-Cross method to create an ionic compound out of two elements. They can complete these problems the same way they completed the original four examples, and they increase in difficulty along the way.
