(1) Print each set of cards on a different colored piece of paper. For example, print “Title Cards” on yellow paper, “Explanation Cards” on blue paper, and “Picture Cards” on green paper.
(2) Laminate and cut-out the cards. Place each set of cards in a baggie with a print-out of the “Student Directions” to make a complete kit.
(3) Working with a partner, students should match-up each “Title Card” with the appropriate “Explanation Card” and the appropriate “Picture Card.”
(4) After each pair of students has completed the match-up, check their work. Offer suggestions or hints if some cards are matched incorrectly.
(5) Once all cards are matched correctly, assign the “Ionization Energy Trend – Practice #1” assignment. “Practice #2” and “Practice #3” can be used for review, warm-ups, exit tickets, or HW.
