In the Ions-Electron Calculation worksheet students will practice and test their understanding of positively and negatively charged ions, when to add/subtract electrons in order for the atom to become stable.
Students will also learn how to total the number of protons and neutrons using a periodic table while being able to analyze the electron totals of ions.
My students found this assignment to be very useful as we have practiced with protons and calculating neutrons prior to this assignment. It is a great bridge from the basics of protons, neutrons, and electrons into Ions.
Enjoy and Godspeed!
