This resource can be provided to students while viewing HBO's Iron Jawed Angels; a film detailing the courageous efforts made to get the 19th amendment ratified in 1920. It has statements listed with embedded blanks to be filled in by the students. The answer key is provided. I also provided the specific scenes, minute-to-minute, that are needed for viewing in order to complete the activity. While I find value in showing this film to my students in its entirety (fair warning: there is one scene of Alice Paul in a bathtub, that you may want to be wary of if you intend on showing the entire film!), some years I feel crunched for time and choose to only show it for one, 50 minute class period. The scenes I have listed add up to roughly 40 minutes. This activity can be used if you intend on showing the entire film, or it provides the option of only showing certain scenes. Either way, students should able to follow along and fill in the blanks.
