This is a complete Irony Package (Verbal Irony [including sarcasm], Situational Irony, and Dramatic Irony) for you and your students. While the zipped document contains 64 pages, in truth it would be more accurate to say that there are 32 full-content pages.
Included is a Google Drive 30-Slide Presentation, which includes three TedEd videos embedded into the presentation, as well definitions, examples, and multiple visual examples of Verbal, Situational, and Dramatic Irony mixed in with a few examples which are "not ironic." I use these to introduce the concepts to the class in a humous way. Once you purchase the product you can select "Make a copy..." from the File menu in Google Drive so that you can edits for yourself. I opted for Google Drive Presentation over a traditional PowerPoint because I find it easier to work with embedded videos in Google Docs.
In case you do not have Internet access in your classroom (The horror!), I have also included a 28-page PDF file so that you can project the slides (minus videos) from your computer, or print them on acetate sheets.
Also included are two completely different 10-question quizzes (or worksheets) that I use to assess students abilities to distinguish between the three forms of irony. In the 2nd of the two quizzes there are two questions which are not ironic at all, merely unfortunate.
By the end of these materials, your students should have no problem anchoring their learning to specific examples, and be able to easily identify irony in literature and in everyday life.
