Product Description
Are your students still getting the irony types confused? Look no further!

This resource will define the three types of irony for your students: situational, dramatic, and verbal.
It provides a graphic organizer for them to write their notes, and this graphic organizer makes a great reference sheet for other assignments and studying for quizzes or tests.
This resource also provides a slides presentation activity that allows students to practice what they've learned. (This activity is a great informal formative check for understanding)

The slides can be used in a variety of ways.
1. You can cut out the provided cards for situation/verbal/dramatic irony. As each slide comes on the screen, have students hold up the card with the appropriate irony type.
2. Make up hand signals for each type of irony for students to hold up. (For example, a hand on the forehand for dramatic, chomping/talking hand for verbal, and a C turned sideways like a U for situational which is a situation that is Unexpected)
3. Call and response-students can call out the answers as each slide appears (although this one makes it hard to determine which students may be struggling).
4. Print out the slides and give them to groups of students to figure out and label together.

No matter how you use the slides. They are a great way for students to practice what they've learned.

Please feel free to leave feedback about how this activity worked out or other ways you may have used the slides!
