Irregular past tense verbs are fun when combined with the familiar 3-in-a-row game. This product contains FOUR color coded games, each providing practice with 25 different verbs. Students turn over cards, find the matching past tense on the board, and cover that spot. Once all of a player’s markers are on the board, they must move one of their markers if they wish to cover a new word. The first player to get 3 in a row (row, column, diagonal) wins.
The pink set is the easiest, featuring the words saw, came, lost, dug, left, made, read, broke, wrote, sent, bit, fell, won, wore, got, ran, knew, went, told, stood, did, had, fed, too and rode.
The brown set contains the words grew, felt, drew, shut, hid, threw, drove, sang, heard, found, became, paid, hit, put, swam, met, gave, ate, hung, built, sat, rang, rose, thought and said.
The purple set has the words began, stole, caught, stuck, beat, slept, flew, slid, bought, forgave, forgot, kept, lit, hurt, shook, shot, let, froze, bent, spent, held, spoke, sank, taught and sold.
The blue set is the most challenging, with wove, sprang, ground, stung, dove, chose, swore, sped, shrank, led, tore, undid, split, wound, spun, fought, overheard, meant, stank, shone, swept, bled, blew, lent and clung.
You will need two sets of 6 markers (each set the same color, shape or size) for each board used. An optional recording sheet provides a record of student work.
