This fill in the blank worksheet is designed to practice the conjugations on the irregular preterite verbs ir, ser, dar and ver. The students have to read each of the 15 sentences and decide which verb, ir, ser, dar or ver, is most appropriate. They then fill in the blank with the conjugation of the verb that matches the subject in the sentence. I gave this assignment after teaching the conjugations of the irregular preterite verbs ir, ser, dar and ver. We checked the assignment in class, I drew straws and the students read the sentences out loud in Spanish. After the students read their sentences, I asked them what context clues in the sentence made them choose the verb that they did. As a follow up when we were finished checking and they had all the correct answers I had them translate the sentences from Spanish to English.
