Using the topic of Cultural Activities, which is the vocabulary my Spanish 2 students are currently learning, I have created a story in which students figure out the irregular conjugations of preterite and imperfect verbs.
Preterite: IR, SER, DAR, VER, HACER
Imperfect: IR, SER, VER
~ A story where the students must find (using underlines, circles, and squares) all imperfect and preterite conjugations, in addition to unfamiliar verbs.
~ Comprehension questions
~ Conjugation T-Charts, where students are given hints using other conjugations of the verb. However, the one used in the story or in the questions is missing. The student must find this conjugation, fill it in, and write down the verb used in context.
~ An essay question to help students compare their own experience to the narrators experience
