Students place the endings and stems of the irregular preterite past tense on a template of a daisy like flower. They staple or tape or glue the stems together on the top, leaving the bottom open to flip through them, and attach the 6 petals (with 6 endings) together forming a flower. They can use the flower to study these irregular verb pieces. Has been successful with students that engage in hands-on activities.
Flowers can be decorated too. Students can also write meaning/translations for verbs on the back of the stems.
