Irregular Verbs: This set of 32 task cards focuses on irregular verbs.
The cards contain fill-in-the-blank sentences, in which the students must determine the correct form of the given verb.
Why the butterfly? When I teach my students about irregular past tense verbs, I make the analogy to butterflies. Just as a butterfly looks quite different from its original form (the caterpillar), irregular verbs can look quite different from their original present tense form!
If you want to try this analogy with your own students, you may want to check out my Irregular Past Tense Verbs PowerPoint , where the analogy is explained and supported with visuals.
