Are your students having trouble learning the irregular verbs in English? I feel for you.
This is why I've grouped the most basic irregular verbs based on their similarities and patterns. This handout will make irregular verbs a piece of cake for your students as it will help them memorise their irregular forms and spelling much faster.
Please bear in mind the following:
- The first group consists of the most important verbs (like "be, do, have, ...") which don't seem to follow any pattern.
- The 4th column is left blank so that you or your students can write down the meaning of each verb in your native language.
- There's also a printer-friendly black-and-white version of the table included.
- TIP: For dictation, assign no more than 15 irregular verbs at a time.
I hope you find my handout helpful!
