How to Use This Resource
- The slides and activities go in order following the strategy listed above
- There are activities for you to do in speech and activities for you to send home for caregivers to practice the same skill at home. The homework activities were designed to be similar to the ones completed in class to promote understanding and repetition of target skills. Homework slides have “homework” in the corner.
The Strategy in This Resource:
- Your student must understand the difference between “one” and “more than one”. This is the foundation for singular and plural.
- It is helpful to teach your student the sight words “is” and “are” so that you can use these words as a visual cue later on. It is also great for early readers to be able to recognize these words.
- Explain the rule: ”is” goes with groups of 1 and “are” goes with groups of 2 or more
- Lots of opportunities for practice!
