Is it a good egg or a bad egg?
Laminate and cut out pieces. Eggs have 3 lettered nonsense and CVC words.
Directions: Literacy Center play: Laminate several sets of the game on different color cardstock, giving each pair of children the same color eggs. This allows for easy clean up and keeps the game intact. Place all of the same colored laminated eggs into a basket. A student pulls one out and then reads the card and writes the word under the real (good egg) or nonsense (bad egg) column. If a student pulls a card they don’t need, if one side of their worksheet is complete, they put the card back in the basket and the play continues with the next person. For 2 players. The winner finishes both columns first and must read aloud their real and nonsense words.
Large Group Activity: At the top of the pocket chart, place the large Good Eggs and Bad Eggs. Children draw eggs out of a basket and read it aloud and place it under the correct egg…Good Eggs (real words) Bad Eggs (nonsense words). Children could be using white boards or the worksheet to also write the words.
RF.K.2d: Isolates and produces CVC word sounds.
