After reading the article "Is Miley Cyrus Out of Control?" from Scholastic Scope, my students completed this graphic organizer and Tug-of-War writing activity. There is also a connection to my "Argument Notes" that can also be found in my store.
Students are asked to identify the argument, claims, and corresponding evidence from the article. Then, after looking at both sides of the issue, students are responsible for writing their own argument with claims.
This was a fun, engaging way to look at argumentative writing.
