This set includes thematic activity boards for each month of the school year, September
through June. For each month there is a directions card, 2 player mats, 6 more or less symbol
cards and 2 recording sheets, one for more, one for less. There is 1 set of number cards for
numerals 0 to 100.
While each of the games has the same directions, the skill level will change throughout the
year. As children become better able to identify numbers you can increase the difficulty of the
activity by having students use higher numbers. In addition to the basic play, you can have
children draw two numbers, add them together, and determine whose sum is more/less. Or you
could have them draw 2 numbers to subtract then determine whose answer is more/less.
I would suggest copying the playing pieces on heavy paper or cardstock and laminating.
You could also copy the recording sheets front to back so that children have turns recording
both more and less answers.
When using recording sheets, children should write their numbers in the correct spaces and
put the > or < symbol in the center space.
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
