DSM-5 labels these conditions as Somatic Problems and differentiates between those that are short-term and those that are longer in duration. We will address Conversion, Pain and Briquette's Syndrome as well as Illness Anxiety Disorder. Finally, we will define those who fake illness for an external or internal gain.
