I created this for APES, but it could easily be used in AP Biology or other general Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science classes. It's designed around the APES learning objective ERT-1.A "Explain how the availability of resources influences species interactions."
Students watch the video, "Wolves of Isle Royale" (5:46) and answer 11 questions about the interactions between wolves & moose, moose & the vegetation they eat, wolves & amounts of trees, wolves & the height of trees. They continually ponder how resources (both abiotic and biotic) influence the ecosystem.
The questions might be a bit challenging if you have young General Biology/General Environmental students with mixed levels of ability, but you could easily modify the difficulty down and differentiate the worksheet if needed. These questions are great for your sharper students who need to be pushed a bit further. If you're at the AP level, I've written the questions to start to get students thinking in terms of connections and applications of concepts.
The document is set up for distance learning and is also great if you're in-person but want to use less paper. It's ready to be dropped right into Google Classroom or Schoology, and the answer key IS provided.
