This lesson is for an Italian class to explain that, while Italy does not have a Thanksgiving holiday, the Italian traditions have influenced how Italian-Americans celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S. There are coloring sheets at the end just for fun (I send the slides to my students as a pdf). There's the history of Thanksgiving in the U.S., an examination of how Italian-American culture influences celebrations, and a vocabulary exercise. There are two slides with maps of the most popular side dishes (besides the standards) in each state. I use that to examine which culture has influenced the popularity of that item in that area.
