It's Common Sense! Students examine Thomas Paine through anonymous groups!
In this highly-engaging resource, students examine five excerpts from Thomas Paine's revolutionary classic, Common Sense, to understand Paine's contribution to the American Revolution. Students are given a numerical sequence that tells them the order they will analyze each source -- which is a great way to target certain students or create specific groupings (GATE, IEP, or 504 clusters)!
Once students have worked individually, students will work within their small teams to come to a group answer on the meaning behind the excerpt. Then, students express their creativity with a picture, rhyme, or song to show their understanding! Once finished, students will complete a final on-demand writing assignment once they have analyzed the text!
