Here are 30 task cards in COLOR AND BLACK & WHITE FORMAT:
10 task cards with TIME START UNKNOWN
10 task cards with END TIME UNKNOWN, and
10 task cards with DURATION TIME UNKNOWN.
Using these task cards, students practice solving each kind of elapsed time problem and must determine if addition or subtraction is necessary in order to find the correct answer. Not only are these wonderful math center activities, as well as resources for differentiating instruction, they can also be used as assessment pieces for report card checks or portfolio pieces as well.
To assist with student accountability, a printable student answer document is included for each activity- as we all know some students are not as productive in less structured settings, so printable answer documents provide a visual tool to remind students about the work they are expected to complete during a given amount of work time.
Student answer documents also provide ease when making differentiated assignments- by simply circling the numbered workspaces a student is to complete, you will eliminate any misunderstandings about assigned work!
Student answer documents are also excellent pieces of authentic work required for student portfolios, IEP, AIP documentation of differentiation as well as work examples for referral conferences, re-evaluations of placements, parent/teacher conferences, etc.
Use these task cards at math centers, as math journal practice, during transitions, for early finishers, as test review, as assessment pieces, etc. The possibilities are numerous!
YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY OF THESE KINDS OF RESOURCES FOR RESTLESS STUDENTS! Happy Teaching!
AS A BONUS-
I've included the resource in slide format for projecting on a whiteboard if you prefer to use the problems as a whole group teach session.
