Product Description
I’ve always been mesmerized by Andrew Wyeth’s 1948 photo realistic painting, Christina’s World. After reading that Christina Olson, the subject of the painting, was depicted for her strength and dignity in the face of her physical disabilities, I was even more convinced that this painting would stimulate a valuable discussion as well as teach my 5th grade students some basic concepts of composition, creating depth on a 2-D picture plane, and storytelling through art.
This lesson plan guides you and your students through the steps to explore the art work through photography, creative writing, and a graphic design iPad lesson. There are links to online resources to guide you including a step by step video tutorial I made specifically for this lesson.
