RELEVANT AND QUIRKY Instruction!
In these 30 pages, you receive 2 pages of tips from a real foreign-language teacher, a suggested grading rubric, and 24 individualized role cards- most of which also have clip art, as in the sample, which asks the student to use the target language to play the role of a child who doesn't want anything on the menu and has to go to the bathroom. (What parent or sibling hasn't been there?) In addition, the roles are color-coded. Leader-volunteers take a pink card at each station, and the other students take a blue.
The stations/ centers are divided into 3 categories: At the Italian Restaurant, At the Fruit Stand, and at the Barbecue (BBQ) Restaurant. Extra slides are provided with props, such as the build-your-own-cornucopia, for the fruit stand, and a FULL MENU of appetizers, main course, sides, drinks, and desserts for the BBQ restaurant.
If you have more students and need extras or want to create a station for your specific culture and target language, you need only print the appropriate number of pink or blue role cards and fill them in!
The best part is that you can use this activity for any language: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Japanese, American Sign Language,English or any other foreign language practice!
