This activity requires recorder students to notate the fingerings and note names for one of the traditional songs featured in the Recorder Karate method book. Below each note of the song is a blank recorder fingering chart that the students fill in. I also ask my students to write the letter name under each note to reinforce note names. This is a great activity to include in centers or for students to complete while testing for belts. It could also be used as a written assessment during a recorder unit. It has helped many of my students to improve their reading and fingering skills. The activity is classroom developed and tested.
