Summary: The much-beloved 1946 movie, staring Jimmy Stewart and directed by Frank Capra, shows the journey of a man, George Bailey, who has decided to kill himself because he mistakenly believes he is worth more dead than alive and that everyone would have been better-off if he hadn't been born. Most of the movie features George growing up, forming a family, and developing the business he never wanted, but his town desperately needs. The audience sees George's life of sacrifice and service to others, culminating in the moment when George contemplates ending his life.
