2 ways to use this file for your students based on varied learning needs.
The first page is for students to touch-and-read and either write or cut and glue appropriate high-frequency word (2nd page...prints 3 per page).
The second option on page 3 (prints 2 per page) is for students who may need more support and not ready to complete the cloze activity on pages 1 and 2. First, students highlight the spaces between the words with a highlight marker. Next, students circle the words as they recite the rhyme, using 1:1 match. Then, students cut on the lines into strips and I "mix up" the strips. Students use Popsicle stick pointers to touch and read and glue the strips in order, rereading for sense as they go.
Of course, we decorate with a fun illustration when we finish the rhyme!
Great resource for practicing 1:1 match and using high-frequency words with a familiar rhyme!
