This PowerPoint presentation examines the presidency of John F. Kennedy. It begins with the election of 1960 highlighting the impact of television and Kennedy's debate with Richard Nixon. It then briefly looks at his domestic policy including the New Frontier, the Peace Corps, the space race, and the youth and vigor of Camelot. It then shifts to deal with foreign affairs spending some time on the construction of the Berlin Wall, but examining America's dealings with Cuba in a more specific way. It touches on the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. It ends by setting up his assassination in November, 1963. This presentation is used in an AP United States history class and is based in part on Chapter 38 of The American Pageant, 14 edition.
