These pages are in my 'Color Chord-inated' format so students can sing while playing a simple chord accompaniment. This file can be projected or printed on 11 x 17 cardstock to create a poster.
First, teach students to sing the melody. Then give each child a bell or boomwhacker and explore the chords, helping them identify the chords their notes belong to. Practice playing chords to a steady beat, then practice chord changes. Note: I have only colored the chords when they change so students can more easliy discern and prepare for chord changes.
You may choose to have a few students play a rhythm ostinato on non-tuned percussion (wood blocks, lap pats, etc.) based on this rhythm: "Jing jing jingle jingle" :|| And, of course, some jingle bells played in steady eighth notes would add a finishing touch.
Notes used: G A B C D E F# G. (If you don't have an F#, simply omit it, and it won't really be noticeable when voices are singing the melody.)
