Product Description
Journeys Common Core is a literacy program designed around the Common Core State Standards.
Performance Tasks

Performance Tasks feature text-based classroom discussion and responsive writing, and include collaboration between students and teachers to promote a healthy learning environment.

However, Journeys does not provide classroom teachers with printable versions of many of their best opportunities to respond. We have solved that problem.

Each packet contains ONE of the following sets of printable worksheets for Grade 5 classrooms.

(1) Analyze the Text (sold separately)

During the Second Read, students revisit two or three targeted areas to analyze text on a deeper level. For each lesson, these questions and standards are gathered and presented one one printable worksheet for better formative or performance assessment.

(2) Writing About Reading (INCLUDED)

Weekly text-based writing exercises are designed to build comprehension and writing skills. These prompts are presented on separate worksheets, along with each task's corresponding standards.

(3) Compare Text (sold separately)

Each week, students are challenged to compare texts in a variety of ways. We have gathered the reading response questions from Text-to-Text prompts and presented them in printable formats.

(4) Apply Vocabulary Knowledge (sold separately)

Vocabulary development is a key component in any literacy program. The questions on Apply Vocabulary Knowledge pages prompt students to incorporate new vocabulary into their written responses. We have compiled these questions into easy to follow worksheets with clear directions.
