This is a set of six AP English Literature essay prompts for Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. The focus of these prompts vary and include character development, irony, conflict, tone, and figurative language. There is one prompt for each act of Julius Caesar as well as one essay prompt for the play as a whole asking the student to support a critical evaluation of the character of Brutus. None of these prompts are from the College Board or have appeared on any AP practice exam.
For each prompt there is also the text of the scene (if necessary), an AP essay rubric, and four lined pages for the student's response.
Each essay question works well as a culminating assignment for AP students at the end of a section of Julius Caesar. Can also be used as part of an exam for the end of Julius Caesar or general practice for the AP Literature exam.
